📅 October 09, 2024

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila — The Philippine Marine Corps proudly announces the successful participation of eight Marines from the Force Reconnaissance Group (FRG) in Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2024, held from October 4 to 6 at the Black Mountains and Sennybridge Training Area, Wales, United Kingdom.

The annual military exercise, regarded as one of the most grueling in the world, was held in Wales, United Kingdom, with participation from elite teams representing various countries. This year’s Exercise Cambrian Patrol brought together top military units from across the globe, with a shared goal of improving collaboration and operational capability in challenging environments.

The Philippine Marine Corps contingent navigated the challenging terrain of the Cambrian Mountains over 48 hours while accomplishing complex military tasks and were tested in various aspects of soldiering, including navigation, fieldcraft, marksmanship, casualty evacuation, and military knowledge.

Exercise Cambrian Patrol is considered a benchmark for infantry soldiers, with its extreme tests pushing participants to their limits. The remarkable performance of the FRG team underscores the Philippine Marine Corps’ growing capability to excel in demanding international military environments and reflects the high level of training and professionalism instilled in the force.

“The success of our Marines in this exercise serves as a testament to their dedication, resilience, and the rigorous training they undergo. The Philippine Marine Corps remains steadfast in its mission to protect the sovereignty of our nation and contribute to global security efforts,” said Major General Arturo G Rojas PN(M), Commandant of the Philippine Marine Corps as he expressed pride in the team’s accomplishment.

The Philippine Navy remains committed to honing the skills of its personnel through participation in international exercises to ensure that its Sailors and Marines are prepared to face the evolving challenges of modern warfare.
