AFP Chief Dental Service bids farewell in a visit to Navy Headquarters ahead of retirement

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila — The Philippine Navy welcomed Brigadier General Angelica Torres DS, The Chief Dental Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and was received by the PN Flag Officer in Command, Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr., during her farewell visit to the Navy Headquarters on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

"On behalf of the Philippine Navy, we thank you for your support to the organization. We have a pool of dentists under your supervision, and we wish you well on your next journey. The AFP is very thankful to have people like you. We need dedicated individuals like you to help us," said the Navy Chief.

BGen. Torres was the first female Chief of the Air Force Dental Service. A graduate of Xavier University, Ateneo de Cagayan as Cum Laude with a degree in B.S. Biology, she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Cebu Doctors’ University, graduating Cum Laude and as the Most Outstanding Clinician in 1990.

Having served as the 36th Chief Dental Service of the AFP, BGen. Torres made history as the first female Chief of the AFP Dental Service and the first female Brigadier General in its history since 1954.
