NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila - The Director of the US Navy International Program Office (NIPO), Rear Adm. Anthony Rossi, vowed continued support to the ongoing modernization of the Philippine Navy (PN) during his visit at the PN headquarters on Thursday, February 22.
Naval Education, Training, and Doctrine Command deputy commander, Commo. Salvador Lavapie Jr., received the visiting US Navy official in behalf of the Flag Officer In Command. Among discussed during the courtesy call were current and future modernization projects, and bilateral training initiatives between the two naval forces.
Commo. Lavapie Jr. expressed gratitude to Rear Adm. Rossi for the continued support and eyed the furtherance of the already-strong bilateral relations between the two nations.
Rear Adm. Rossi reciprocated the gratitude, and then emphasized the significance of fostering strong relationships with allies like the Philippines, highlighting the mutual benefits that stem from collaboration and solidarity among partner nations.
"We see great value when we work together with partners. It demonstrates solidarity on behalf of allies," he remarked.
Established in 1989, NIPO endeavors to advance global maritime alliances and partnerships by championing exportability and the transfer of capabilities in support of strategic security interests.
