PH Navy, Department of Agriculture strengthen collaboration for national security

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila - The Philippine Navy (PN) on Tuesday, March 5 welcomed Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary, Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., in a courtesy call to the Flag Officer In Command, Vice Adm. Toribio Adaci Jr., affirming their commitment to bolstering national security through inter-agency collaboration.

Highpoint of the discussion was advancing ongoing projects in line with Horizon 3 of the PN Modernization Program as Secretary Laurel, who is a distinguished member of the PN reserve force, underscored the critical role of the PN in maritime security and in safeguarding the nation’s interests. The DA Chief likewise reaffirmed his agency’s steadfast dedication to providing unwavering support to the nation’s leading naval and maritime force.

With the anticipated completion of Horizon 2 of the Revised AFP Modernization Program this year, Vice Adm. Adaci conveyed optimism and enthusiasm as the PN will not only be “more competent but also fully equipped to meet the evolving challenges facing the nation.”

The Navy Chief went on to thank Secretary Laurel and the entire DA for their unwavering support not only to the PN but also to the entire Armed Forces of the Philippines.
