📅 May 17, 2024

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila – Philippine Navy (PN) Flag Officer In Command, Vice Adm. Toribio Adaci Jr., welcomed France’s Chief of Naval Staff, Adm. Nicoulas Vaujour, during his courtesy call at the PN Headquarters on Wednesday, April 24.

During their meeting, Vice Adm. Adaci and Adm. Vaujour discussed the shared commitment of both nations to enhancing maritime security, the PN's modernization program, and the French Navy's participation in this year's Balikatan exercises.

“We are here to show our willingness to help our partners. We want all the nations to respect sovereignties of nations and we are also for freedom of navigation,” expressed Adm. Vaujour.

The two Navy leaders also emphasized their hopes for continuing engagements, trainings, and exercises between France and the Philippines.

“When several countries come together for Balikatan, it sends a strong message to the world about our concern for a common interest. We extend our gratitude and appreciation for all the support,” said Vice Adm. Adaci Jr. as he thanked the French Navy Chief and his delegation.
