📅 May 11, 2024

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila - After 36 years of honorable service to the country, Naval Internal Auditor Commo. Juan Ilagan completed his military career on March 7 in a testimonial honor and retirement ceremony led by Philippine Navy (PN) Flag Officer In Command, Vice Adm. Toribio Adaci Jr. at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The Navy Chief commended Commo. Ilagan for his unwavering dedication and commitment to service, and assured that “your legacy of excellence and integrity will remain with us as we carry forward the torch of leadership within the Philippine Navy.”

Commo. Ilagan then expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the PN and the entire Armed Forces of the Philippines for the privilege of serving for 36 years, underscoring the camaraderie and shared values within the organization. A proud member of the PMA "Sambisig" Class of 1991, Commodore Ilagan leaves behind a legacy of dedication and professionalism.

In a seamless transition, Navy Capt. Alexander Balurin stepped into the role of acting Naval Internal Auditor. With an extensive background in logistics and financial management, Capt. Balurin's appointment has instilled confidence in the Navy Chief, who expressed optimism about his capabilities to uphold the standards set by his predecessor.

The Office of the Naval Internal Auditor (OTNIA) has played a significant role in fostering a culture of transparency and accountability within the PN. As it transitions to new leadership, OTNIA remains steadfast in its mandate to ensure efficient management and utilization of PN resources and properties, reflecting the core values that define our naval forces.
