NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila - The Philippine Navy conferred the honorary title of Goodwill Ambassador for Naval History and Heritage to Commander Flordeliza Villaseñor PN(Res) in a ceremony led by the Flag Officer in Command, Vice Adm. Toribio Adaci Jr., at the Navy Headquarters, Manila on October 28, 2024.
During her conferment, Cdr. Villaseñor proposed three key initiatives to promote Philippine naval heritage: an Educational Program to integrate Naval History and Heritage into the Naval Education Training and Doctrine Command's curricula to prepare future naval history ambassadors for the Navy; Heritage Events such as exhibitions and cultural festivals at the Philippine Navy Museum to celebrate the Navy's accomplishments; and a Digital Media Engagement strategy to create accessible and engaging content for younger generations.
She lamented that if these key activities come to fruition, the title conferred upon her would be more than an honor; it would leave a lasting legacy for the next generation.
“Her work and achievements within and outside our Navy exemplify service with integrity and commitment. We are grateful for her invaluable contributions in preserving our heritage and strengthening the connection between generations," said Vice Adm. Adaci as he lauded Cdr. Villaseñor’s dedication.
A dedicated advocate for positive change, CDR Villaseñor began her public service journey at 19 as Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President before becoming her town’s youngest vice mayor, going on to champion Philippine history, culture, and heritage throughout her career. Serving as Assistant Department Head III for the Capital City, she celebrated Manila’s legacy, and was designated "AFP Goodwill Ambassador" for Cultural Heritage earlier this year to safeguard the Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
