NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila — The Philippine Navy (PN) conducted a donning of ranks ceremony for Rear Adm. Roy Vincent Trinidad, the Naval Inspector General, and Rear Adm. Joe Anthony Orbe, the incoming Commander of the Naval Education, Training, and Doctrine Command, presided over by Flag Officer In Command, Vice Adm. Toribio Adaci Jr., on June 27 at the PN headquarters.
"These two stars you now carry on your shoulders represent your accomplishments and, more importantly, the hopes and expectations of our Navy and our nation,” the Navy Chief said as he praised the newly-promoted officers for their achievements as naval leaders.
Rear Adm. Trinidad, a member of the PMA “SAMBISIG” Class of 1991, specializes in surface warfare, special warfare, and naval intelligence. He has dedicated more than half of his service to operations as a Navy SEAL, aboard commissioned vessels, and with intelligence units, particularly in Mindanao and the West Philippine Sea.
Meanwhile, Rear Adm. Orbe, a proud member of the PMA “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992, is a seasoned naval officer who has commanded several Philippine Navy vessels, including the former flagship, BRP Gregorio Del Pilar. He has led maritime security missions across various area commands and previously served as the Commander of the Naval Forces Southern Luzon and Commander of the Offshore Combat Force.
"As the new Naval Inspector General, Rear Adm. Trinidad, you will ensure the integrity and effectiveness of our naval operations and modernization efforts to maintain our Navy’s highest standards of excellence. Rear Adm. Orbe, as Commander of NETDC, you will shape the future of our Navy by preparing the next generation of Filipino naval leaders, sailors, and marines to meet the challenges and complexities of modern warfare," the Navy Chief added.
