Philippine Marine Corps holds successful “Sovereignty Run” 2024
📅 October 15, 2024

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila – The Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) conducted the seventh edition of its annual marathon, the “Sovereignty Run” on October 13, 2024, at the Bonifacio Naval Station (BNS) Grandstand and Parade Ground, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

With 4,050 runners and enthusiasts from across Luzon, this year’s marathon was held in anticipation of the 74th Marine Birthday on November 7, 2024, honoring the valor, sacrifices, and dedication of the Philippine Marines in defending the country.

The proceeds from the run will go toward supporting the families of fallen Marines and the troops deployed in the western frontier, where the Marines continue to uphold the nation’s sovereignty and defend the territorial integrity of the country.

The Philippine Navy extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, sponsors, support groups, as well as motorists and traffic enforcers for their patience and cooperation during the event.

The “Sovereignty Run” serves not only as a fitness and fundraising activity but also as a platform to promote national unity and awareness, particularly regarding the Philippines’ firm stance on safeguarding its rights in the West Philippine Sea.
