NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila – In response to the devastation caused by Typhoon Carina and the intensified Southwest monsoon, the Philippine Navy undertook humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations across Metro Manila, providing aid to hundreds of affected families.
On July 24, the Fleet Marine Ready Force (FMRF), through the Naval Task Group-National Capital Region (NTG-NCR), deployed teams to assist in the rescue and evacuation of 51 affected individuals in Pasig City; 300 individuals in Mandaluyong City; and approximately 100 individuals in the City of Manila.
On July 26, CMOG-PN, in partnership with Breadtalk Charity Philippines, distributed 130 packs of bread to the victims of Typhoon Carina in Brgy 183, Villamor, Pasay City. They also carried out distribution of relief goods from the GMA Kapuso Foundation and McDonald’s Philippines at the Tanza National High School in Navotas City, benefiting a total of 250 families. The relief efforts continued at Potrero Elementary School in Brgy Potrero, Malabon City, where they distributed additional relief goods to 150 families.
These efforts not only provided material aid but also delivered hope and support to our fellow Filipinos who have lost so much during the typhoon. The Philippine Navy remains committed to the ongoing relief efforts, and will continue to aid in distribution in other affected areas.
