NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila — The Philippine Navy conducted its 3rd Command Conference for 2024 presided over by the PN Flag Officer In Command, Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr., and attended by key unit commanders and headquarters staff on September 23, at the Navy Headquarters in Manila.
The event centered on assessing the External Security Threats as part of the Active Archipelagic Defense Strategy (AADS) and reviewing the Naval Force Posture (NFP), to ensure that the PN is fully aligned with its vision of building a stronger, more resilient, and self-reliant Navy in the years to come.
Key topics included capability development, strategic basing, and other initiatives that reflect the Navy’s long-term commitment to enhancing its operational readiness.
“These are the building blocks for a stronger future — ensuring that the coming decades are secured, and that future generations of sailors and marines are even more capable, resilient, and ready to lead with strength and purpose,” said Vice Adm. Adaci Jr.
In line with these efforts, the PN also officially launched the latest iteration of the AADS and a booklet outlining the PN’s role in the Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept. These publications aim to inspire and guide personnel to internalize the Navy’s strategic vision and convert these concepts into tangible actions on the ground.
“Our leadership, execution, and adaptability today will shape the future of our Navy and the security of our nation,” Vice Adm. Adaci Jr. further emphasized.
This conference marks another significant step in the PN’s journey towards modernization and securing the Philippines' maritime interests.
