NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila – The Philippine Navy welcomed the outgoing and incoming Assistant Defense Attachés of Australia to the Philippines during a joint courtesy call on January 10, 2025 at the Navy Headquarters.

The Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Adm. Alan Javier, represented the Flag Officer In Command and received the outgoing Assistant Defense Attaché LtCol. Tim Lopsik and his successor, LtCol. Noel Young.

“We look forward to the continuity of our navy-to-navy talks and further deepening our partnership with Australia. We wish you fair winds and clear skies as you return home to Canberra and your family," said Rear Adm. Javier as he commended LtCol. Lopsik’s contributions to fostering defense relations during his tenure and extended his well wishes as he concludes his assignment.

Their meeting focused on strengthening bilateral defense cooperation, enhancing navy-to-navy engagements, and exploring plans for future collaborations between the Philippine Navy and the Royal Australian Navy.

The visit also underscores the strong and enduring partnership between the Philippines and Australia, built on shared commitment to regional security and mutual support.
