NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila —The Philippine Navy accorded a welcome ceremony to the Mexican Navy Sail Training Ship ARM Cuauhtemoc (BE01) on August 9 in Manila.
Commo. Vincent Sibala, Littoral Combat Force Commander, represented the Flag Officer in Command, Philippine Navy and formally welcomed the delegates from Mexico during their official visit to the Navy Headquarters in Manila.
ARM Cuauhtemoc Commanding Officer, Capt. C.G. Dem Victor Hugo Molina Perez, led the Mexican Navy delegation, along with Mexican Ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency Daniel Hernandez Joseph who both expressed their delight at their goodwill visit to the country.
During their meeting, both Navy leaders shared naval best practices and cultural similarities that highlighted the longstanding relations between the Philippines and Mexico.
“It really shows that there is really a very strong connection between your country and my country because we share a common heritage,” said Commo. Sibala.
The Mexican Navy’s visit will be from August 9 to 13, featuring reciprocal receptions, goodwill games, a shipboard tour, and a passing exercise (PASSEX) during the send-off ceremony.
The goodwill visit of ARM Cuauhtemoc serves as an opportunity to strengthen and reaffirm the Philippine-Mexico bilateral ties and promote the shared commitment to enhancing maritime security in the region.
