NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila — The Philippine Navy welcomed its newly promoted and newly assumed Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Adm. Alan Javier, during a turnover and donning of ranks ceremony presided over by Vice Adm. Toribio Adaci Jr., the Philippine Navy Flag Officer in Command at the Navy Headquarters on October 28, 2024.
“This rank symbolizes the trust we place in him and the challenges he now inherits. As he assumes the role of Chief of Naval Staff, his rank carries with it the responsibility to lead with vision, to innovate in the face of evolving threats, and to ensure that our Navy stands as a pillar of stability and strength for our nation," expressed Vice Adm. Adaci Jr.
Rear Adm. Javier succeeded Rear Adm. Jose Ma Ambrosio Ezpeleta, who served for over two years in the role. Vice Adm. Adaci Jr. also lauded Rear Adm. Ezpeleta for “leading with the kind of resilience and clarity that only a truly dedicated, strategic leader can bring," and expressed confidence that Rear Adm. Javier would “continue to prioritize the well-being of our Navy, push forward modernization goals, and strengthen the values that define us.”
A member of the Philippine Military Academy “Tanglaw Diwa” Class of 1992, Rear Adm. Javier previously commanded Naval Forces West. His extensive experience in logistics, procurement, and operations has been vital in implementing modernization initiatives within the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Department of National Defense.
