📅 September 10, 2024

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila — Philippine Navy Vice Commander, Rear Adm. Jose Ma. Ambrosio Ezpeleta represented the Flag Officer in Command in welcoming the Defense Attaché of France to the Philippines, Capt. Stephan Litzler in an introductory call on September 9 at the Navy Headquarters.

"On behalf of the Flag Officer in Command and the entire Philippine Navy, we welcome you as our new French Defense and Armed Forces Attaché (DAFA). Thank you for supporting us, especially in our efforts in the West Philippine Sea. We are expecting more like-minded navies to join us and we are looking forward to more interactions with the French Navy," said Rear Adm. Ezpeleta.

The PN Vice Commander and the French Attaché discussed future plans and engagements between both countries' armed forces, especially in terms of modernization and maritime cooperative exercises.

"It is an honor to be the first resident defense attaché here in the Philippines, with the will to engage more with the Philippine Navy and the young officers of the Philippines," said Capt. Litzler as he expressed his delight as the new defense attachè to the country.
