PH Navy welcomes newly installed The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila – The Philippine Navy welcomed the newly installed and promoted The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Lieutenant General Jimmy Larida PN(M), during his courtesy call to the Flag Officer in Command, Philippine Navy, Rear Admiral Jose Ma Ambrosio Ezpeleta, on December 3, 2024, at the Navy Headquarters.

“The entire Philippine Navy is very glad that you have assumed the position of The Deputy Chief of Staff of the AFP. We look forward to working with you,” said Rear Adm. Ezpeleta as he expressed his optimism for LtGen. Larida’s assumption of the AFP’s third-highest post. 

LtGen. Larida, a seasoned Marine officer, served as the Commander of the 3rd Marine Brigade when Palawan was declared insurgency-free. Under his leadership, the brigade earned the Best Brigade of the Year award in 2021 and 2022. He also played a vital role in ensuring the readiness of personnel deployed to the Kalayaan Island Group in the West Philippine Sea. Prior to his current post, LtGen. Larida also served as the Deputy Commandant of the Philippine Marine Corps and Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, J3, AFP.
