NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila—The Philippine Navy Flag Officer in Command, Vice Adm. Toribio D. Adaci Jr., met with the United States Chief of Naval Operations, Adm. Lisa Franchetti, and her delegation during their official visit to the PN Headquarters in Manila on July 26.
"The US is an incredible partner and ally of the Philippines. I want to reaffirm our strong alliance and the US commitment to the Philippines, but most importantly, my commitment to working with you and your navy," Adm. Franchetti stated.
The two Chiefs of Navy exchanged views on maritime security and explored opportunities for more joint and combined exercises and cooperation, focusing on strengthening the RP-US alliance, enhancing interoperability between the naval forces of both countries, boost capability development initiatives and improving maritime domain awareness. All of these are geared toward improving the overall maritime security environment contributory to the attainment of regional stability.
"The engagements between our two navies have steadily increased, including areas such as education and training, capability development, subject matter expert exchanges and Fleet to Fleet and Marine to Marine engagements between the US and Philippine navies. We hope to sustain these activities and progressively build on them in the future," said the PH Navy Chief.
The continued collaboration between the Philippine Navy and the United States Navy reflects their mutual dedication to maintaining peace and security and their resolve to work together in the face of evolving maritime challenges.
