The Philippine Navy Judo Team showcased a commendable performance at the first-ever AFP-Uniformed Services Judo Championship, led by Rear Adm. Roy Vincent Trinidad, held on December 5, 2024, at Camp Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City, marking the revival of judo competitions within the Armed Forces of the Philippines after nearly four decades.

The Navy team secured two silver medals: LTJG Bony Phearl Feril in the -70 kg female category and ASN Jeff Mark Tocmo in the -100 kg male category, and one bronze medal by LTJG Romel Iddoba Jr. in the -66 kg male category. Coached by PO2 Franco Teves, head coach of the Philippine Judo National Team, and CPO2 Jesreal Abcede, a former national team member, the team was managed by Rear Adm. Trinidad, who also participated in a post-event sparring session with fellow uniformed personnel.

In his remarks, Rear Adm. Trinidad commended the organizing team and participants for the event’s success, highlighting Judo’s ability to foster camaraderie and unity among uniformed personnel.
