NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila - The Philippine Navy (PN) received 10 units of power generators donated by the Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loans Associations, Inc. (AFPSLAI) in a ceremonial handover at the PN headquarters on Tuesday, March 26.
The Flag Officer In Command, Vice Adm. Toribio Adaci Jr., accepted the donation from AFPSLAI President and CEO, retired Navy Vice Adm. Gaudencio Collado Jr. During the handover, the FOIC underscored the importance of these mission critical equipment in assisting personnel who put their lives on the line to defend the borders of our nation against all forms of threats, particularly in the West Philippine Sea (WPS).
“The role of the PN in defending our sovereignty and territory has become even more critical, and Team AFPSLAI is one with you in developing a strong naval force capable of protecting the country’s maritime interests and securing the Filipino people", Vice Adm. Collado (ret) remarked.
The AFPSLAI Chief also emphasized that the donation signifies more than just the provision of equipment but also symbolizes AFPSLAI’s unwavering commitment to social responsibility and solidarity.
Vice Adm. Adaci likewise expressed his sincere gratitude to the AFPSLAI team for their unwavering support to the welfare of the men and women in uniform over the years.
“Your contribution fulfills an immediate necessity for our troops and serves as a reminder that we can rely on your support in times of need", he stated.
