VICE ADMIRAL ADELUIS S. BORDADO was born on 09 September 1966 at San Roque, Calabanga, Camarines Sur. He graduated number 4 out of 135 cadets of PMA Maringal Class of 1988 and was commissioned as ENSIGN in the Philippine Navy (PN).
To properly equip and prepare him for future deployment at sea, he took up the Naval Officers Qualification Course (NOQC) ‘A’ at the Naval Training Command, Fort San Felipe, Cavite City where he graduated number 1 of his class.
VADM BORDADO also took up various schooling here and abroad, such as the Foreign Officer Supplementary List Executive Course (FOSLEX) at the Royal Australian Naval College at HMAS Creswell, Jervis Bay, NSW, Australia; Basic Airborne Course (BAC 77-96) at Special Forces School; Naval Command and Staff Course (NCSC 44) at Naval Education and Training Command; Naval Intelligence Officer’s Course (NIOC 58) at the Naval Intelligence Training Institute (NITI); AFP Comptrollership Course 14; Command at Sea Course 3-06 at Fleet Training Center; Command and General Staff Course Class 48 at the AFPCGSC; Naval Command College (NCC 2012) at United States Naval War College (USNWC), Newport, Rhode Island, USA; and Combined Forces Maritime Component Commander (CFMCC Course 19-1c) at US Pacific Fleet, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.
VADM BORDADO is a well-rounded naval professional, having been assigned to various operations, intelligence, information technology, budget, planning, education and training positions within the Philippine Navy and AFP foremost of which were as Chief, Computer Office and Internet Systems Administrator at Philippine Military Academy; Chief of various branches (Plans and Budget Branch, Production Branch, Operations Control Branch, Admin Branch, and Technical Intelligence Branch) of O/N2 at Headquarters Philippine Navy; Director of Naval Intelligence Training Institute; and Commander of Naval Intelligence and Security Group – Southern Luzon. He has also performed instructor’s duties at the Philippine Military Academy, NETC and NITI as course director and instructor of various courses offered thereat.
VADM BORDADO’s first command-at-sea was BRP FORT SAN FELIPE (AM-700), a SIGINT ship of the Naval Intelligence and Security Force. Afterwards, he skippered RPS EXPLORER, a survey ship of Service Force, Philippine Fleet.
He completed his sea tour as the Commanding Officer of BRP RAJAH HUMABON (PF-11), the former flagship of the Philippine Navy.
VADM BORDADO served on the following positions of major responsibilities: (a) Superintendent of the Fleet Training Center; (b) Assistant Chief of Naval Staff for Education and Training, N-8; (c) Deputy Commander of Naval Forces Southern Luzon with concurrent duty as the Commander of Naval Task Force 31; and (d) Commander, Bonifacio Naval Station.
His flag rank assignments are (a) Commander, Sealift Amphibious Force; (b) Commander, Naval Forces Southern Luzon; (c) Commander, Naval Installation Command; (d) Commander, Armed Forces of the Philippines Education, Training and Doctrine Command;(e) Chief of Naval Staff; and (f) Vice Commander, Philippine Navy. He assumed his present position as the Flag Officer in Command, Philippine Navy in June 2021.
He received numerous awards, decorations and commendations, as well as plagues, certificates and letters of appreciation from the different key leaders of the Philippine Navy and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
VADM BORDADO is happily married to Dr. Ma. Ruth, a physician-psychiatrist and they are blessed with their only son, Adeluis Antovic Jr.
