PH Navy and UP Marine Science Institute hold Roundtable Discussion on Science Diplomacy for Maritime Security

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila – The Philippine Navy’s Naval Meteorological and Oceanographic Center (NAVMETOC) and the Office of Naval Strategic Studies and Strategy Management (ONSSSM) co-organized a roundtable discussion between the Philippine Navy and the University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute (UP-MSI) on April 8.

The roundtable discussion (RTD) aimed to explore potential areas of collaboration between the PN and UP-MSI through “science diplomacy” to enhance maritime domain awareness (MDA). Various offices from the Philippine Navy participated in the activity.

PH Navy welcomes Commander of US I Marine Expeditionary Force

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila – The Philippine Navy welcomed Lieutenant General Michael Cederholm, Commanding General, I Marine Expeditionary Force of the United States Marine Corps, during his visit on April 10, 2025 at the Navy Headquarters in Manila.

LtGen. Cederholm was received by Major General Edwin Amadar PN(M), Vice Commander of the Philippine Navy, as the representative of the Flag Officer In Command during the courtesy call. The visit highlighted the longstanding and ever-strengthening military alliance between the Philippines and the United States.

PH Navy welcomes newest corvette, the future BRP Miguel Malvar (FFG06)

NAVAL STATION JOSE ANDRADA, Manila – The Philippine Navy officially welcomed its newest warship, the future BRP Miguel Malvar (FFG06), during an arrival ceremony with Secretary of National Defense Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr. as the Guest of Honor and Speaker on April 08, 2025, at Naval Operating Base Subic, Zambales.
