Exercise SAMASAMA 2024 Wraps Up in Zambales

The Philippine Navy, through the Naval Forces Northern Luzon (NFNL), formally concluded Exercise SAMASAMA 2024, a bilateral exercise aimed to strengthen the defense agreements among allied nations, at Naval Operating Base Subic, Zambales. The Closing Ceremony was spearheaded by Commodore Karl A Decapia PN, Deputy Commander, Northern Luzon Command, Guest of Honor and Speaker, with Commodore Edward Ike M De Sagon PN, Commander, NFNL.

Exercise SAMASAMA 2024, conducted from October 07, 2024, to October 18, 2024, brought together naval forces from several allied countries represented by the United States Navy, Royal Canadian Navy, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, French Navy, and Royal Australian Navy, fostering collaboration and strengthening partnerships in maritime security. Over the course of the exercise, participants engaged in a series of joint training activities, including simulated maritime operations, humanitarian assistance exercises, and tactical drills designed to improve interoperability among participating nations.

Further, Exercise SAMASAMA 2024 addressed evolving maritime security challenges by incorporating scenarios that reflect the latest maritime warfare and operational demands. This Exercise highlights the Philippine Navy's steadfast commitment to collaborating closely with allied counterparts, strengthening mutual dedication to maintaining peace and security in the maritime domain. 

The Philippine Navy, the US Navy, and other participating nations have strengthened regional cooperation and fostered enduring collaborative relationships to promote maritime security and stability.
